If you care about helping folks stay in their homes for as long as possible, one of the biggest focus points you need to have in your arsenal of resources and education would be how to prevent falls. For those Aging In Place, fall prevention is one of the best ways for them to continue living in their home. It can be as simple as rearranging walking paths in and out of the house, clearing overgrown bushes and shrubs, to installing grab bars.

Koremen is proud to be a member of the Indiana Fall Prevention Coalition (INFPC) and welcome all that are wanting to help educate themselves and others on best practices, tips, outreach, etc., in the state of Indiana.

The INFPC is a group of professionals representing a broad range of statewide agencies and organizations concerned with building Indiana’s capacity to address the prevention of falls for the at risk senior population. Specifically, this group will help to raise awareness statewide in Indiana about fall prevention, and will be a link to fall prevention events, activities, education, and programs statewide.

They have a diverse group of members coming from all sorts of organizations including Area Agencies, Home Modification Specifiers, Fire Fighters, and Hospitals. If you would like to learn more, visit https://www.infallprevention.org/about-the-coalition.

Please think about joining this great coalition and let us know if you have any questions!

The coalition's next meeting is on Wednesday November 18th at 12:30pm. Find a link to the Zoom event at the INFPC Website.
